Why work with the subconscious mind?

The Subconscious Mind:

  • Runs 90 to 95 percent of all of our behavior and emotional reactions.

    All habits, good and bad, are run from the subconscious. Have you ever wanted to make a change like eating healthier, but it’s been hard to make that change? It could be that you want to eat healthier intellectually, but your subconscious hasn’t been programmed for the result that you’re looking for. The good news is that you can re-program it to change unwanted habits or behaviors. You can also change your beliefs which drive your behavior.

  • Is responsible for all our emotional reactions.

    Have you ever been angry and tried to talk yourself out of it? It probably didn’t work. That’s because when we are in a highly emotional state we are coming from the subconscious, not the logical mind. So, if you want to change your emotions, doesn’t it make sense you would want to speak to the part of the mind that generates all of your emotions? By doing so you can change negative reactions to more positive ones and be able to respond to situations instead of reacting to them.

  • Home of our Long-term memory

    Everything that has ever happened to us is stored in our subconscious. In addition, the subconscious’ number one job is self-preservation, and it works by association. For example, if you have a traumatic experience being bitten by a dog your subconscious might label all dogs as dangerous. Since your logical mind doesn’t hold your long-term memories, you may end up with a fear of dogs and not even know why. By communicating with your subconscious, you can break that negative association that was formed when you were bitten by the dog and replace it with a positive association.

  • Does whatever it is programmed to do.

    We start to program our subconscious mind at birth. Taking in everything we see and hear without the ability to filter the data. Direct as well as indirect messaging get stored in our subconscious as truth. And since the subconscious mind does whatever it is programmed to do, if we don’t update it with what we want now, it just continues to run the old programs that we’ve had since childhood, and we won’t even be aware of it!
