How My Coaching Process is Different

My style of life coaching is a combination of two powerful approaches—Internal Family Systems℠ (IFS) and Process coaching.

IFS is a cutting-edge psychological model developed by Dr. Richard Schwartz, which is quickly finding its way into a wide circle of applications.

Process coaching follows the trail of your inner process toward your vision. It is a kind and gentle approach that allows us to give ourselves grace and flexibility as we work to become better than we were yesterday, without expecting perfection. With actionable steps and strategies, you’ll become mindful that whatever is encountered along the way is our best guide on this journey, and that progress is worth its weight in gold.

And if the client wishes, Hypnotherapy can be incorporated into an IFS (Internal Family Systems) session to enhance the client's connection with their subconscious mind, facilitating smoother communication with their Parts. The integration of IFS and Hypnotherapy can yield remarkable outcomes, harnessing the power of both approaches.

I truly believe that one of the major obstacles holding us back is the deeply ingrained beliefs and emotions we carry from our early years. It's remarkable how many of our undesired behaviors can be traced back to past experiences, rather than being the true problem themselves. Simply focusing on the unwanted behaviors often proves ineffective in bringing about lasting change. What we truly need is to have a compassionate understanding of the root cause behind these unwanted behaviors, and then embark on a journey to replace the negative beliefs that no longer serve us. Once this transformative process takes place, I firmly believe that the undesired behaviors will naturally dissolve, making room for a more positive and fulfilling life.

Using the IFS Framework

Using the framework of IFS, we embrace obstacles (aka Parts), viewing them not as something to fear or defeat, but as something to understand with respect and compassion. With IFS-Inspired Coaching, we invite all of your Parts to get on board in service of your vision and goals.

Unlike many other forms of life coaching, my approach doesn’t ignore or push aside Parts of you that may not want to move ahead. Instead, I support you in offering respectful attention to those Parts so we can learn their positive intent for you, and welcome their wisdom with an open heart and an open mind. This inherent wisdom can serve to complement your plans for the future, and also teaches us that moving toward your goals doesn’t require leaving behind or working in opposition to the Parts that define who you are. 

Integrate the wisdom of all your Parts in service of your highest vision for your life.


Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that utilizes hypnosis to help individuals address various issues and promote positive changes in their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions. Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation and focused attention that allows the subconscious mind to become more receptive to suggestions and insights.

During a hypnotherapy session, I guide the client into a state of relaxation. Once the client reaches a state of heightened relaxation and concentration, I can then make suggestions using the client’s own words and engage in therapeutic techniques tailored to the client's specific goals and needs. 

Contrary to common misconceptions, hypnotherapy does not involve losing control or being unconscious. Instead, it is a collaborative process in which the client remains aware and actively participates in the session. The client's subconscious mind becomes more open and receptive to therapeutic suggestions, allowing for potential shifts in perception, behavior patterns, and emotional responses.

Hypnotherapy can be used to address a wide range of issues, including but not limited to:

  • Improve Self-Confidence/Self-esteem

  • Reduce Anxiety

  • Get rid of destructive habits and behaviors

  • Reprogram limiting believs to more positive ones

  • Sustainable weight loss

  • Stop Smoking

  • Reduce negative self-talk

  • Enhance study skills and memory

Grief Recovery Coaching

Sometimes, our challenges go beyond the Parts of ourselves, and are triggered by external circumstances or situations that are outside of our control. As humans, we experience the full range of emotions, from the deepest joys to unshakable feelings of overwhelming grief and sorrow. Although grief is an undeniable part of the human experience, it can take a toll on our mental, physical, social, and emotional health, affecting our ability to live with true happiness and prosperity.

The Grief Recovery Method has been changing lives for over 40 years, with an evidence-based methodology that teaches strategies and coping skills to facilitate healing from grief, trauma, loss, or heartbreak. Supplemented by the “The Grief Recovery Handbook”, the GRM includes personal and relevant assignments that help grievers look within themselves and discover their power to achieve a full and lasting recovery.

I’m here to help you process your grief in a gentle, loving way, with healthy coping strategies that allow you to step out of the darkness and into the light once again. The small, manageable, and actionable steps of the GRM will assist in recovery from grief while promoting long-lasting healing for the mind, body, and soul.
